Teas & Coffees After Mass Each Sunday after the 11am Mass there is an opportunity to get together with other parishioners over a cup of coffee or tea. This is an important way of building and strengthening the parish community, so please join us – whether you’re a regular member of the congregation or a visitor. Refreshments are served in the Parish Hall, and we look forward to getting to know you better. All welcome! A few more helpers would be very much appreciated.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill (“the assisted dying bill”) — a Private Member’s Bill (PMB) to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales — failed to complete its passage through the House of Lords before the end of the 2024–26 parliamentary session. Supporters are therefore expected to seek the bill’s reintroduction in the next session. There are many concerns identified when the bill was previously considered including:
1) the risk of devaluing the lives of specific groups of people,
2) the impact on people who feel a burden,
3) the difficulty in accurately identifying an individual’s prognosis,
4) the difficulty of ensuring capacity and consent,
5) the difficulty of elder abuse and coercion which doctors can’t easily assess,
6) the impact on trust between doctors and patients,
7) the impact on palliative care service funding and practice
8) its failure to respect the sacredness of life
Please join calls to defend life until natural death and to ask our MPs to act morally and to look at more ethical options to support those living with pain, disability or illness. Right to Life have an easy tool to message your MP which takes seconds. Please take this urgent action now.
CAFOD: Stand with Sudan.
On the third anniversary of the war in Sudan, Kayode Akintola, CAFOD’s Head of Region for Africa, asks for your help:
“So many of our sisters and brothers in Sudan are facing increasing violence, hunger, and disease. That is why today, I’m asking you to consider setting up a regular gift to support families who are fleeing the violence – with food, safe water and other vital support. Monthly gifts are an act of steady love for our neighbours, a way of saying: we will not abandon you, we will stand with you until peace is restored.” Donate at cafod.org.uk/StandWithSudan
