Volunteers Needed (May 2025)
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion:
If you feel called to this important ministry of assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass, please consider putting your name forward. Training will be provided. You need to be able to move about the sanctuary during Mass and handle the sacred vessels confidently. With enough new volunteers we hope to have a rota for 11.00am Sunday Mass to restore giving communion under both kinds. Your service will help ensure a reverent and efficient flow during this sacred time. Speak to Deacon Tony.
Readers:
The Word of God comes alive through those who proclaim it. If you can read, and are happy reading out loud in public please offer your name. We would welcome younger members of our parish, who are Confirmed, to step forward and share their voices in this vital role. Reading at Mass is a wonderful way to actively participate in the liturgy and deepen your own understanding of Scripture. Speak to Malcolm Fleet at Saturday Vigil Mass or Darren McDonnell at Sunday Mass.
Altar Servers:
We warmly invite younger members of our parish, especially those who are approaching their First Holy Communion this year, to consider becoming altar servers. This is a special opportunity to have a closer involvement in the Mass and learn more about the rituals of our faith. You will be guided by more experienced servers in the roles to be performed during the Mass. Speak to Andrew Hartley or Peter Holland.
If you are interested in any of these ministries, please find the sign-up lists at the back of the church where you can put your name. Once we have names then a welcome event and training will be offered.
