As we start the Lenten season, a quick email to highlight three things to help us all focus on the journey ahead of us:
Ash Wednesday Mass & Prayer for Ukraine
Our Ash Wednesday Mass is at 6pm Mass in church. Pope Francis has asked that we pray for peace in Ukraine as we start on our Lenten journey. This Mass is an opportunity for us to gather as a faith community to pray for the people of Ukraine.
Pope Francis has said: “I invite everyone to make next March 2, Ash Wednesday, a day of fasting for peace. I encourage believers in a special way to devote themselves intensely to prayer and fasting on that day. May the Queen of Peace preserve the world from the madness of war.”
Listen to Lenten Readings
To help focus prayer and reflection during Lent, Sacred Heart parishioners have recorded each of the Lenten daily readings. You can listen to the readings on our Lenten webpage, https://www.sacredheartsheffield.co.uk/lent/
